This bug is frequent for me. Running Chrome 5.0.307.11 beta on Ubuntu 9.4 netbook
remix on Asus Eee PC 900A. Bug does not occur with Firefox 3.5 same platform.
Comment 3 by Deleted ...@, Apr 19 2010
I can confirm that other browsers on the same platform do not have a problem loading
sites such as Gmail while Chromium does. Running 5.0.329.0 on Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit.

It's difficult to tell which of the "Error 107" bugs are caused by the same thing, but
this thread seems to have similar symptoms and may be related:

I have the same problem.
I have google.com.au, mail.google.com and facebook.com as my startpages.
Everything loads fine, expect for GMail.

@charliecarrington: 5.0.307.11 is too old. Please update.

Everyone else: please include a tcpdump of a failed connection.

Almost the same here. Chromium 5.0.393 doesn't want to load facebook.com and
docs.google.com.

Ubuntu 10.04 here.
Comment 8 by agl@google.com, May 3 2010
@gvg.fede: please include tcpdumps, these bug reports are useless without them.

$ sudo tcpdump -s 2000 -w /tmp/dump -i eth0

(assuming eth0 is the correct interface, of course).

If you're worried about posting it publically, you're free to email it to me: agl at
chromium dot org.

Same problem for me.
Since last upgrade (Chromium 5.0.393.0 for Ubuntu, installed on Debian Sid), many
thinks are not working correctly, like :
 - GMail: site is not loaded, loading gauge is never ending
 - Facebook: not working (home page seems loaded, but loading never really ends).

Also, developer tools are not working anymore.

Everything was OK with previous release (5.0.384).
I've updated to 5.0.342.9 and its working.
Status: WontFix
The new comments are completely unrelated, since the ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR does not
occur for these cases. Please open new bugs for those.
Status wontfix isn't correct. It's fixed and it's working :)
