Firefox 3.6 crashes for example URL

Comment 2 by ald...@gmail.com, Feb 16 2010

BTW: Scrollbars are not working in HTML if foreignObject has x- or y-attribute != 0.

Is there any browser that renders this correctly?

Opera renders this properly with the green rectangle on top. Firefox still crashes on this particular example, but that's the result of something in the JavaScript generation. If you feed Firefox the resulting DOM it renders it perfectly with the green rectangle on top. Webkit is alone in getting the z-index wrong.

Attached is the same test but with a static DOM. Works in Firefox & Opera. Fails in Chrome & Safari.

Since this also fails in Safari, my guess is it's a WebKit issue. I'd file a bug upstream at bugs.webkit.org, and tag it with "Component: SVG". That should get the attention of the right people.

Here is the bug at bugs.webkit.org:

https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23111

I've linked from there back to this bug as well.
