Jan 6 2009,
I use Gmail and I am constantly experiencing this. Luckily I know where the checkboxes are supposed to be. However it also happens on pretty much every site I go to that has checkboxes anywhere on the page. These 3 pages, in addition to gmail, have had this issue only today. Experiencing this as well, it's intermittent. Could it be that it happens when the checkboxes are in a table?
Apr 8 2009,
I'm having this problem in Chrome 22.214.171.124, most notably in Wordpress administration.
Apr 16 2009,
I am also experiencing this problem. Most notably on Gmail and Slashdot, but it intermittently happens on any page. It isn't only the checkboxes either. The arrows on the scrollbar buttons are also blank. Version 126.96.36.199
Apr 18 2009,
Hi... Please help me...Google Chrome is not displaying checkbox.
Apr 26 2009,
I am not able to reproduce now with version 188.8.131.52, both GMail and Wordpress 2.7.1 are showing the check boxes properly.
Jun 6 2009,
I got the same issue, the checkboxs are not display, my chrome version is 184.108.40.206 and my system is win2003
Jul 2 2009,
I am also experiencing this with Chrome 220.127.116.11, however, it's not always reproducable. The same page with checkboxes on it renders fine one time, then the next it doesn't. In some cases simply switching tabs and going back to the page makes the boxes disappear. On one occasion I had the checkboxes miraculously reappear after simply clicking somewhere else on the page, but I have not been able to reproduce that either.
Jul 3 2009,
Same problem, chrome 18.104.22.168, problem occurs on all pages, same problem with radiobuttons.
Sep 21 2009,
been happening since upgrading to v3 (currently 22.214.171.124 and it's happening more frequently) i used to be able to shut down chrome and start it back up again to fix this, but today i have had to restart chrome more than 3 or 4 times to get the check boxes back
Oct 29 2009,
Yesterday, I started having this checkbox problem on some sites; today, it's in my gmail. Chrome version: 126.96.36.199
Dec 4 2009,
I have the same problem. No checkboxes. (Firefox and IE works)
Dec 14 2009,
This bug is still existent in 188.8.131.52. It seems to happen randomly, and can be fixed without exiting the tab or browser by right clicking the Windows task bar, going to properties, then simply pressing OK.

This occurs for me in chrome version 4.0.295.0 in 'dev' and 'beta' version (trying everything). I have never been able to see checkboxes when using Chrome (e.g., Pubmed site, Gmail, etc.). I have been able to get them to reappear if I open Internet Explorer (ewwww) but only for the specific tab open. As soon as I open another tab, they're gone. Some of the time, I can guess where the box was supposed to appear and check that, but much of the time I just have to use Firefox instead. Please, please, please fix this.
Feb 11 2010,
checkboxes are still not showing. Radio buttons have that problem too.
Feb 11 2010,
checkboxes are still not showing. Radio buttons have that problem too once in a while.
Jun 22 2010,
Not working for me either. I use the workaround of bringing up the Chrome options field to fix the problem once in a while, however it doesn't always work and is very troublesome over time. This is a critical problem that impacts so many things (from signing up for websites, to blogging, to even moderating a forum), and for two years it continues to be a problem! Please find a resolution for this!
Jul 22 2010,
Getting this bug on two XP SP3 systems too. It is a critical bug and must be resolved.
Aug 23 2010,
I'm also having this happen to me on XP SP3. This is definitely a hindrance to my productivity, let me know if there is anything I can do to fix this.
Feb 7 2011,
the same problem(on xp sp3)
Feb 21 2011,
I am having the same problem with checkboxes not displaying under Chrome IE.
Mar 18 2011,
I am having this issue on XP/SP3 with classic theme. This issue makes the chrome absolutely useless for business/banking and more where you have to Check the box to accept terms and conditions. I can't even delete/move items from my gmail inbox. This issue should have been escalated and resolved long ago.
Apr 1 2011,
same problem here, 11.0.696.28 beta, XP. Checkboxes do not appear on some websites. No alternative but going back to FF
Apr 25 2011,
I alt tabbed and scrolled, yea same thing , then i was suprised after I came back to Chrome, the checkboxes were there! weird.... GC 10.0.648.205
Jun 15 2011,
what a ridiculous bug. i am going to have to switch back to firefox as well. this just started happening to me recently & it's really inexcusable. the workarounds just irritate me to even have to attempt. xp sp3, chrome 12.0.742.100 + ghostery & adblock
Jul 25 2011,
The same problem here. Very frustrated at this issue.
Jul 26 2011,
I have had this problem for a long time and there is no solution despite the numerous times this is "closed" on the chromium bug threads. In my case, I was able to confirm that it is a problem related to using classic themes in Windows (XP professional in my case). Strange, but true. The solution I use, is: a) if you know where the checkboxes are supposed to be, go ahead and click on them. They still work even if they are invisible. This only works some of the time, obviously, so the next solution b) Open Windows Task Manager ("Ctrl+Alt+Delete" then select task manager). You don't need to do anything with it itself. Minimize chrome, make the Task manager the active window and make chrome big again. Alternatively, if I just move the windows task manager over the place that the checkboxes are supposed to be, move the chrome scrollbar up & down a bit, then, voila!, the checkboxes reappear. Repeat as necessary (and it will be). Strange, but I've had to adapt to this arcane ballet. I have recently uploaded the latest version of firefox and find it works much faster than it used to so am considering moving back to it as my major browser.
Aug 28 2011,
I am also experiencing this issue. Fix.
Dec 13 2011,
Chrome version 15.0.874.121 Problem just started had been fine.... Works okay in IE
Jun 13 2012,
Que pasa con chrome..
Jul 20 2012,
this is ridiculous! i'm just going to uninstall chrome and switch back to fireFox!
Aug 10 2012,
Thank you to commenter 36, by casali...@gmail.com. While it's ridiculous that the bug still hasn't been fixed, your workaround saved me a lot of trouble.
