| Dragging a tab automatically detaches it from the window (xfce) | ||||||||
| Reported by kics...@gmail.com, Dec 18 2009 | Back to list | |||||||
Chrome Version : 4.0.266.0 (Official Build 33992) OS + version : Arch linux (using deb build) CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit): 32-bit window manager : Xfce What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Launch the browser 2. Open a few tabs 3. Start dragging one to reorder What is the expected result? Dragging the tab horizontally reorders the tabs. What happens instead? The tab is instantly detached, as if it were dragged to create a new window. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot and backtrace if possible. Keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+Shift+PageUp/PageDown works as expected. Everything works fine on a secondary monitor. (The issue is still there when additional displays aren't involved) Also, tabs from other windows cannot be reattached. The problem is probably detecting that the mouse is over the tabs bar.

Similar issue 31461 is no longer a factor, behavior is correct in e17+ecomp ... is this still an issue with xfce?

Elliott, do you have Xfce handy to test this on? I wonder if Lucid has a new enough Xfce as well.

I am using Google Chrome version 10.0.648.114 beta. I have this problem when using FVWM 2.4.20 but not when using Xfce 4.6.1. My distribution is Slackware 13.0. Reordering tabs does not work and the tab is detached every time I try to drag it.

@13: Please file a new bug for fvwm. Also, as a work around, you can use ctrl+shift+{pageup,pagedown} to reorder tabs.
