The problem also occurs on my homepage:

Untill a week ago, both SWF items played just fine simultaniously. If you need to see what the page is meant to look like, visit the page using internet explorer.

Is this fixable? Did this problem occur because of something I did? Or is it a consequence of a recent Adobe Flash Player update?

The same issue on Livestream website,

One of the swf on the page doesn't load at all. Gives a broken experience for the user.

Also getting a report from Japanese user on Help Forum.

When I tested with Chrome M26 before update, this page worked fine. I can repro issue on both Mac OS 10.8.3 and Windows 7. I can also repro this on 29.0.1520.2 canary

original forum thread:!topic/chrome-ja/pykYaXpxvxc
For #10, user's chrome://flash info is as below:
Google Chrome        27.0.1453.94 (m)
OS        Windows 7 or Server 2008 R2 SP1 64 bit
Flash plugin        11.7.700.203 C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\27.0.1453.94\PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll
Flash plugin 11,7,700,202 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_11_7_700_202.dll (not used)

And my Mac chrome://flash

Google Chrome	27.0.1453.93 ()
Flash plugin	11.7.700.203 /Applications/Google Chrome Framework.framework/Internet Plug-Ins/PepperFlash/PepperFlashPlayer.plugin
This issue occurs on all of our test computers running the latest version of Chrome. We are running multiple versions of windows and os x for testing purposes and the issue occurs regardless of operating system. This issue is huge and will cost a lot of money for companies world-wide in terms of support to there customers.

had this problem when flash was embeded with html object/embed tags.
solved by embeding flash using javascript swfobject.

Marking as releaseblock since this seems like a bad regression.

Comment 17 by Deleted ...@, May 29 2013

Another workaround is to change the size of the obj tag, that triggers the flash to load later.
Developers in Brazil are experiencing the same problem (websites do not run >1 or 2 swfs), which is not reproduced on IE or FF.

- Chrome version: 27.0.1453.94 (problem did not exist in the previous versions);
- OS affected: Win XP, Win 7;
- Examples of websites:

- Users found a workaround by adding the following code before the </body></html>:

<script type="text/javascript">

var objects = document.getElementsByTagName('object');
for (var i=0, m = objects.length; i < m; i++) {

Developers in Spain and Latam are experiencing same problems (websites do not run >1 or 2 swfs), which is not reproduced on IE or FF.

- Chrome version: 27.0.1453.94 (problem did not exist in the previous versions);
- OS affected: Win XP, Win 7;
- Examples of websites:

- Users found a workaround by adding the following code in the head where they charge jquery

<script src="//" ></script>

and at the end add:

<script type="text/javascript">
                if(window.navigator.appVersion.match(/Chrome/)) {
                        jQuery('object').each(function() {

I have attached 2 images where you can see website in IE and same one with Chrome.

Confirming this issue in Version 27.0.1453.94 m on Windows XP SP3

I designed a web app which renders multiple flash charts on a single page, and since last week it only shows one chart at a time.

Since I am not loading a full html page, but using a DIV within a page as output, the workaround with changing the css attributes of the object tags does not fix it for me.

My website with 5 swf's load just 1/2 swfs on Google Chrome 27.0.1453.94 win 7 32b

Comment 27 by Deleted ...@, Jun 4 2013

add these codes in your page it will be work well
                if(window.navigator.appVersion.match(/Chrome/)) {
                        $('object').each(function() {

Left hand navigation are separate flash files and display this bug behavior clearly.

Comment 32 by, Jun 5 2013

Flash objects are used for navigation on our site as well. It is a really big problem for us.

Can someone from Google give an indication as to how much longer it will take for this to be fixed?

I see that you have pushed out an update to chrome to Version 27.0.1453.110 m. But i have just tested it on our site and still not working. Can you confirm that this update was to address the Flash issue or was it to address other issues? I should say that it is behaving exactly the same as before.
This is a nightmare, Google. Please fix soon.

Comment 37 by Deleted ...@, Jun 5 2013

no ideas? I have the same problem

Comment 38 by, Jun 5 2013

It seems to me, that Google AdSense flash units are working fine. May be they do not see that CTR drop. May be they just announced flash free web?

They still push update with serious bug to users with lower versions and make the problem more serious. On our web site 43% of users use Chrome, and 30% of them have buggy version.

Comment 39 by, Jun 5 2013

Oh sorry, it is 85% of Chrome users with the buggy version. That is 36% of all users on our web does not see ads as they should.
I tested in google chrome canary and now is ok, on my website.
in my case, the site has frame, flash and streaming.
Google Chrome Canary is ok now!
I have
Version 27.0.1453.110 m
Chrome gives message "latest version" (in German) but problem still exists
Version 29.0.1529.2 canary

I still have the same problem --> 3/4 embedded swfs not displaying on web page.
On refresh.... a different one loads.
As described in #1, I could repro the problem with 27.0.1453.81 but not with 27.0.1453.80.

I looked into the change logs between these two versions:

And the mostly likely change is:

Hi, Bill. Would you please take a look at this bug?

That CL was intended to fix a double-delete bug. I don't understand how it could cause this problem since it only changes the behavior of the URLLoader destructor, but perhaps we should revert the change.

More worrying are the reports on Chrome 29 (Canary) because all of this code was removed for a refactored URLLoader. It seems unlikely that this should cause the exact same problem but I would appreciate help testing on more recent versions of Chrome. The revision that refactored URLLoader is:
Installed Chromium Canary Version 29.0.1530.0 (204287) on Windows 7 32-bit

The site initially reported in this issue still only loads a couple of the flash items.
However, the difference now is if you click(left or right) on the white-space where the flash is supposed to be, it suddenly appears/loads.
Reverting the CL on trunk (about a month back) doesn't fix the problem. I suspect it's something else.

I'm going to start working on the branch and verify the bisection range and see if I can pin it down.

Comment 48 by Deleted ...@, Jun 6 2013

I found that setting display:none forces the flash to reload which in our case causes undesirable effects.

If you just touch a css property like left, it will do the same thing but wont reload.

                if(window.navigator.appVersion.match(/Chrome/)) {
                        $('object').css('left', '0px');

I haven't tested this particular code because our code base is a single page app but it should work without the need for the each loop.

 Issue 243750 has been merged into this issue.

Comment 50 by Deleted ...@, Jun 6 2013

Thx for the hint, the workaround does the job for me.
I set up a local checkout and found that the problem isn't fixed by reverting all of the chromium CLs. However, if I revert all the WebKit CLs, the problem goes away. So it looks like the problem is introduced in this range:

I'll see if I can bisect to identify the culprit.
@bbudge: if you're in a position to easily check, maybe looks interesting to me. It does fiddle around with "widgets", which are relating to plug-in rendering.
Yep, 149760 is good, 149764 is bad.
@bbudge: thanks!! Is it possible to narrow down to a single revision?

Assigning to @inferno, as the liklihood is that it's hit CL. (There's actually another @inferno CL in the same range of 4 CLs, fiddling with FrameView.cpp...)

Do we have any idea if many websites are affected beyond the one example?
Oh I meant to say it's definitely

From reading the bug, it appears that many sites are affected. I saw several while investigating this and trying to come up with a good test case. webcamvue seems to be a pretty good one.
Just to make it clear, this issue affects all channels of Chrome that I've tested.

                if(window.navigator.appVersion.match(/Chrome/)) {
                        $('object').each(function() {

this code not work for me on chrome 27.0.1453.94
Anyone knows why!?
Have you use the inspect element and check of object has display:block style ?

Comment 66 by, Jun 10 2013

This is a VERY serious problem.

Comment 67 by Deleted ...@, Jun 10 2013

The issue fixed and closed, ok.

BUT: Should users wait for a new Chrome update for the fix to get reflected?
The fix should be in Chrome Canary in a day and should be there in upcoming Chrome 27 stable as well.

Comment 69 by Deleted ...@, Jun 11 2013

When will this fix be live for all of chrome?

Comment 70 by Deleted ...@, Jun 12 2013

Like #69, an idea of the update date for users ?

Comment 71 by, Jun 12 2013

2 days with the issue being fixed and closed and we are still waiting with plenty of white boxes????

Comment 72 by Deleted ...@, Jun 12 2013

This is not fixed...
What release are you testing this with ? Chrome 29 Canary or what ?
An ETA would be tremendously helpful.

Or is everyone busy making the Google sketch on the home page pretty?

Karen, can you please update on the release timelines ?

This is a serious issue that needs to be rectifed immediately. Any ETA as yet?

Please help us test the live fix by installing Canary side-by-side with your Stable Chrome:

You're welcome to continue to use Canary for the specific sites that aren't working for you otherwise, until the fix reaches the Stable channel.
Just tested Canary and it works there. Two of our systems that render multiple SWFs on a single page now show all SWFs instead of one randomly chosen SWF.

Comment 84 by Deleted ...@, Jun 13 2013

I tested and it appears that the issue has been resolved in Canary. Looking forward to a stable release reflecting the fix.

Comment 85 by, Jun 13 2013

Works also for me in Canary.

I hope that the fix will be published soon on the stable release.

Antonio Capani
The issue looks solved for me too in canary.

Comment 87 by, Jun 13 2013

Works in canary but when is a stable fix going to be put into production for standard users and not the owners of the websites?
This is still a problem, as the majority of Chrome users are still using the buggy version. Please fix.

Comment 89 by Deleted ...@, Jun 17 2013
