Rendering artifacts on page while rotating element on z axis

Reported by jonat...@tumultco.com, Dec 6 2012

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_8_2) AppleWebKit/536.26.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.2 Safari/536.26.17

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Download attached smartswitch.zip and open smartswitch.html in Chrome
2. Mouse over the box several times to get it rotating
3. Changing the zoom factor back and forth seems to help trigger this (but is not required)

What is the expected behavior?
The box renders correctly while animating.

What went wrong?
There are stray pixels from the box left behind on the page. Repaints will make them go away.

See the attached RotationArtifacts.png for an extreme example.

Example URL:

Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes

Is it a problem playing media? No

Is it a problem with a plugin? No

Did this work before? Yes We started getting reports of the ~2 months ago.

Does this work in other browsers? Yes Safari 6.0.2 does NOT exhibit this problem

Chrome version: 23.0.1271.64 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.8.2

This sounds like #108550 but the screenshot appears different in that case.
