Issue 141500: about:gpu lists an undefined graphics feature

Reported by, Aug 8 2012

Issue description

OS Version: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit SP1
Exact GPU vendor/model: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M
URLs (if applicable): chrome://gpu-internals
Other browsers tested: N/A

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open chrome://gpu-internals .

What is the expected result?
Don't know. Guess it is [video decode]?

What happens instead?
There is an undefined entry under graphics feature status.

Please provide any additional information. Attach a screenshot if
22.0.1230.1 canary.
Please copy the contents of about:gpu (chrome://gpu/) below
Should not be necessary at this moment. Unless developers don't see the undefined thingy.

I think that probably is intended to be hardware video decode.

Comment 2 by, Aug 16 2012

According to issue 142402 hardware video decode is currently disabled on Windows. But about:gpu still lists the undefined feature as accelerated in 23.0.1237.0 canary. Seems either it's not to be video code or the page is not identifying the status correctly.

Comment 3 by, Aug 16 2012

The disabling in >=1235 was hard-coded instead of using the command-line flag, so the about:gpu page fails to reflect that.

I am working on this.

@zmo: what about merging to m22? I'm still getting reports of this on 22.0.1229.26 beta on glucid laptop.

Comment 7 by, Sep 5 2012

You mean you get reports of an undefined feature on about:gpu page? If that's the only bug, my feeling is that it's really minor and we can live with that without merging back.

Comment 8 by, Sep 5 2012

@zmo: yes, that's what I mean.  I don't have a strong opinion about this so I'll defer to your about:gpu expertise :)
