The battery status API has landed in WebKit:

Relevant Android documentation:

Not sure if we can provide a discharge time estimate. Perhaps look into android.os.BatteryStats.

Opening up this issue. Sadrul is working on ChromeOS support in the following two CLs. The WebKit part has landed already. We should be able to hook this up afterwards.

The APi implementation never made it into chromium unfortunately, in fact it has been disabled on web kit for now. tracks the work to re-enable it. I chatted briefly with and he is starting to work on it again this week. I'll follow up on that and piggyback on the work he is doing once it's exposed again.

It seems that this API is dragging along on the WebKit side still. We'll pick it up again once it gains some traction

Kindly confirm the implementation status of "Battery Status API" in chrome/canary.
I have just noticed that this bug has the tag "OS-Android".

Does this mean that it will only be available on android, or will it be available on all systems that have a battery (e.g. chromebooks, laptops, etc.)?

Merging this into issue 122593 , which captures the current status and rationalizes why we don't support this.
