|Issue 123305||Crash after dragging tab group between windows|
|Starred by 5 users||Project Member Reported by joh...@chromium.org, Apr 13 2012||Back to list|
Chrome Version: 19.0.1084.15 Operating System: Windows 7 URL (if applicable) where crash occurred: all sites Can you reproduce this crash? 100% What steps will reproduce this crash? 1. Open google.co.uk. 2. Open images.google.co.uk (e.g. by Ctrl/middle-clicking the Images link in the butter bar). 3. Open a new tab. 4. Switch tab to images.google.co.uk. 5. Ctrl-click the google.co.uk tab so both tabs are simultaneously selected (as added by issue 30572 ). 6. Drag the google.co.uk tab out to form a new window (the images.google.co.uk tab will come with it, due to the multi selection). 7. Drag the google.co.uk tab back into the original window (the images.google.co.uk tab will come with it since they are still both selected). 8. Switch to the images.google.co.uk tab. 9. Try to close the images.google.co.uk tab. Unexpected results: - After step 8 the images.google.co.uk tab will just show a solid green background (the green is probably due to my theme) instead of rendering the tab. - After step 9 Chrome crashes with "Whoa! Google Chrome has crashed. Relaunch now?". I've attached screenshots after step 4, after step 6, and after step 8. It happens on any pair of sites, even New Tab Pages (with an NTP, the bookmarks bar still renders in the tab [I have Show Bookmarks Bar disabled, so it's not part of the permanent browser Chrome], but I get that green background both above and below the bookmarks bar). I reproduced this 4 times; crash ids were: c522fe6085193bef, 867b142414a368de, ed6e50e972556a18 and 867b142414a36538 ****DO NOT CHANGE BELOW THIS LINE**** report_id:c522fe6085193bef

I don't have the crashing issue (or maybe I didn't do it enough), but I do have the issue where dragging multiple tabs causes the others to be greyed out and non-functioning. If you refresh them, they still show no content.

ashejole, can you get a crash id?

As an update to my previous comment, another issue that I've noticed with these broken tabs is that you are unable to hit F12 to bring up the developer tools (nor Ctrl+Shift+I). If you go through Chrome's menu and click the menu item, the tools open up fine. The page is grey, but the source is still there inside the dev tools. Refreshing the tab will reload the content in the dev tools, but the container itself will remain gray. The only way to regain the tabs is to close the broken ones and Ctrl+Shift+T to reopen them.
